All I can say is that school is finally over for the year, and I'm home and somewhat settled. I still have a lot of running around to do, but it feels great to be back. I do miss my friends from Boston University, though, it's a change not seeing them everyday. They bother me enough, though, so I can't complain :D
Oh, oh! I get to go to Paris in two weeks. My favorite place on Earth :D It's really a family trip, but a friend of mine might meet us there for a few days. The bastard deserves to be dragged around. He doesn't even know what he's getting himself into. And Mum's friends are going to be there as well, which should mean less of "Marta do this and that." Then again, I don't mind particularly, but I digress.
What else can I say? It's just been...hectic. Moving from Boston back here for the summer and trying to split my time to see all my friends here. I'm still biased...but...*coughs* I got my revenge on Reed, one of my cousin's friends. Got to act drunk all night yesterday without drinking anything mildly alcoholic. He actually believed me. Tch. :D

darkranger gave me: Fanfiction: This is my personal playground. I'm studying mathematics and economics in college, and as much as I love the subjects, creativity isn't a necessity...or more like a disadvantage. I love writing, however, and most of this love goes to waste because I don't have the time for much serious writing. However, fanfiction isn't necessarily serious, but at the same time a creativity outlet.
Yuffie: My favorite character, if that was difficult to tell ^.~ I suppose the reason I like her is that she's the one I can relate to, but isn't that how we all function? I found that I much enjoy this type of character prototype, whether they be from video games, classical literature, or anything in between.
Reno: Another character prototype I really enjoy. Unlike Yuffie, though, I can't necessarily relate, but I have a few friends who are very close to this stereotype.
Icons: When I originally started out, I wasn't good at Photoshop in the least, but then, everyone has to start somewhere. I just found that I enjoyed learning about it, and of course, my stubbornness didn't let me quit. I went to art school for a little less than seven years of my life, and without it, also without the time to set up my paints, this is the next best thing. It's another one of my playgrounds, where I get to release some creativity that I don't necessarily have an outlet for.
Final Fantasy: Everyone needs a break, and I certainly do as well. This isn't necessarily mind-numbing, but I wouldn't be able to really do anything completely mind-numbing. Video games, especially ones with interesting plot and characters, are a nice break. You don't have to think much, but you're not exactly in a vegetative state either. Let's face it, they're interesting, and that makes them addictive.

Introductions

What a spectacular time to realize that the one thing concerning speech I'm not particularly skilled at is the introduction =rolls eyes= Therefore, I would like to apologize in advanced for sounding like a raving idiot...with too much complicated vocabulary for her own good, of course ^_~
My name is Marta, and I'm a nineteen-year-old kid currently residing in America, though I'm originally from the former Soviet Union (Moldova, to be exact). I speak both Russian and English fluently, though my preference lies with Russian in most cases, especially when concerning literature. In fact, I do adore classical literature and more often than not carry around a heavy tome by either Pushkin or Dostoevsky. (Don't ask.) Lately, however, I have been introduced, by one of my favorite professors, to classical Chinese poetry, and I must say, though it's not something I would have picked up out of my own calling, the calming nature of it makes the composition that much more delightful.
I play the piano, have been playing for approximately fifteen years. I recently performed in Carnegie Hall, and just passed the audition process again for the chance to perform this summer. Consequently, of course, it is fair to say that I love classical music.
Small insignificant details? Well, I like the color combination of black and white, Anime, video games, drawing, and my favorite fruit is Kiwi. Good enough? ^^ ...oh, and of course, can't forget Reno (FFVII)!
